Hello and welcome to the Pluto Hosting About Us page! Here you will be able to get to know a bit about who formed Pluto Hosting, how it was formed & why it was formed along with getting to know the staff a bit better.

Our Mission Statement

Our goals are to bring quality web hosting solutions, for a fair price, that everyone can afford to pay, so that no one loses out due to cost restrictions, etc.

History

Pluto Hosting was formed on Thursday November 26th 2009 by current Managing Director Ashley.S. with the domain plutohost.net after hearing that 2HostU, the previous hosting company that he helped at, was up for sale. It was decided that matters would be taken into his own hands, and that he would start up his own hosting company instead of sticking around.

After a few days of opening, it was agreed that all 2HostU clients were to be transferred over to Pluto Hosting. 2HostU had previously been running for approximately 6 months and had built up a great relationship with it's customers, therefore it only seemed right that 2HostU should merge into Pluto Hosting and as such, the site style, vBulletin licence and various cPanel addons were also transferred to Pluto Hosting, along with all clients & staff.

April 2010 saw the loss of the website images, and vBulletin licence due to copyright issues. In order to prevent minimal downtime to the website, Pluto Hosting re-launched with a newly converted support forums from vBulletin 3.8.x to phpBB 3.0.x and the website was replaced with a basic version of the original site, since most of it had been re-written and replaced with basic CSS already. April also saw the switch for our main domain from plutohost.net to plutohosting.net.

June 2010 saw the removal of our client TopSite due to lack of use, and also saw a complete re-structure of plans, including a new pricing scheme, and the removal of our free plan.

October 2010 saw the closure of the Support Forums due to lack of use, and all the support forum contents were moved to various areas on the Pluto Hosting Blog & Client Area. There may be plans to bring back a community forum in the future, but not for now as it's really easy to get in touch with us via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ & Linkedin.

November 2010 saw Pluto Hosting reach it's first birthday, a great milestone seeing as most new hosts don't make it this far due to either time or money issues. To celebrate, we ran a massive sale for 14 days, giving you anything from 10%, right up to 70%, off your order.

May 2011 introduced a new era to Pluto Hosting, with a brand new website, brand new hosting plans and a new management structure.

July 2011 saw the acquisition of falconhost.net and all it's clients. It also saw Pluto Hosting launch with a new look logo & branding package, 3 new payment processing modules, and various improvements to the client area reviews system, along with the anticipation of re-launching a monthly client newsletter.

September 2011 saw the long anticipated return of cPanel-VPS orders with a new provider, courtesy of tmzVPS, of which we have struck a deal to re-sell their VPS plans for those who wish to go to the next level in hosting.

October 2011 saw a change in ownership of Pluto Hosting with the new directors Joe & Nicholi taking over from Michael, who has since left the company. Ashley agreed to stay on as Managing Director in an advisor role and is now regularly reporting to the new owners with ideas, and is helping them continue to build the company. October also saw the simplification of staff teams, management and director roles, along with re-organising the support departments, and a lot of operational changes behind the scenes, stripping everything back down to bare basics.

November 2011 saw yet another change in the way Pluto Hosting operates, switching to unmetered shared hosting plans, with the complete removal of free hosting, and discontinuation of the following services: all master reseller plans & all alpha reseller plans. Advertisement of dedicated servers & additional services have also been removed. Configurable Packages have replaced the Unlimited Hosting plans, and various features have been introduced & changed in your cPanel/WHM and also in the client area. It also saw indy-hosting.us join the Pluto Hosting family network.

December 2011 saw quite a few team changes behind the scenes with new team members joining us, and a lot of back end work to help improve support times and not having to see everything escalated to a manager or director. Also, just before Christmas Day, it saw forumlaunch.net join the Pluto Hosting family network.

January 2012 saw Pluto Hosting go dedicated and move all content and client management over to the main website, so now there is no need to visit different websites within our network to get started!
